After receiving at traumatic brain injury diagnosis... I am now on a mission to foster REAL empowerment in women

Why Now?

This is the last photo shoot I did before getting hit by a suburban while crossing the street last year… The laundry list of physical injuries was one thing. A Traumatic Brain Injury diagnosis was quite another. My speech was compromised, short term memory was virtually non-existent, and my work to help empower women was suddenly out of reach.

At the insistence of MY neurologist, I had to stop working to rest my brain. For the first time in my adult life, I was neither working in front of, nor behind the camera. I was strictly consuming programming and content. Month after month, as the various female empowerment messages crossed my screen, I saw the writing on the wall: We have outgrown the branded, "Girl Boss"- style definition of empowerment.

The experience took me on a journey that deepened my personal empowerment, real empowerment, in ways I couldn't have imagined.

Now that I'm back, I am on a mission to foster REAL empowerment in women.
